 Aurora Bows Out of Division III Playoffs With 97-73 Loss

March 11, 2009 -  The Aurora University Spartan basketball team lost last Friday in the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championships, losing at the University of St. Thomas, 97-73.

Former Knightstown Panther standouts Dusty Magee and Shane Roland are starters for the Spartan team.

Magee scored 12 points and dished out four assists in the game. Roland had 10 points. Lance Robinson had 13 points and four assists. Skyler Ormsbee and Chad Trudo had 13 points apiece.

Aurora University finished the season with a record of 16-13 and qualified for the national tournament by winning their conference tournament championship. Both Magee and Roland starred in basketball for the Knightstown Panther team that won three consequence sectional championships.

The Spartan duo was a key part of the only boys regional champion basketball team Knightstown High School history.

Magee is a junior at Aurora, while Roland is a sophomore. They both averaged scoring in double figures this season.
