Roland, Magee Light it Up For Spartans

January 21, 2009 -  Aurora University continued its hot streak by defeating Lakeland Collebe 89-68 last week. And has been the pattern through a stretch in which the team has won five of its last seven games, former Knightstown High School basketball standouts are playing a key role.

In the most recent victory, KHS graduates Shane Roland and Dusty Magee combined to score 30 points. Roland had 15 points, grabbed eight rebounds and handed out five assists in a tremendous all-around game.

Magee scored 15 points and had three assists. Spartan Chad Trudo had a game-high 23 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field. Skyler Ormsbee had 14 points on six-of-six shooting from the field and five rebounds. Lance Robinson had 10 points on five-of-nine shooting from the field, seven assists and six rebounds.

Aurora improved its record to 7-8 on the season, including 5-3 in conference play.

Magee and Roland starred in multiple sports for Knightstown High School. Both were members of three consecutive Class 2A Sectional titles, and were on the Panther basketball team that won a regional, advancing to the semistate in Indianapolis.

Magee is a junior at Aurora and Roland is a sophomore.

While athletes at Knightstown, the duo also starred in other sports. Both were outstanding golfers, and Magee was also the number one scorer on one of the most successful KHS soccer teams.
