5-6th Teams Unbeaten in Youth League Play

October 8, 2008 - The fifth and sixth grade Panther football team defeated the Broncos 18-0 in New Castle league play last week, improving their record to 5-0 on the season.

The Panthers once again got a superior effort from their defensive unit. Cory Cleek, Jack Holder, Drew Underwood and Coleman Wyatt were standout players on defense.

The Panthers scored on the second play of the game when Drake Peggs rocketed 33 yards for a touchdown. Cameron Fender also had a 38-yard touchdown run and Kaleb Kinnaman scored a touchdown on an 18-yard run.

Rusty Campton's fifth and sixth grade football team also remained undefeated after another tough defensive battle. The Knightstown's boys held the Steelers scoreless, winning the game 6-0.

The only touchdown came on a nice run by Zach Fields. The offense moved the ball well, but struggled to get in the end zone.

The Steelers had one breakaway run that was stopped by a great tackle by safety Tristan Trueblood. The defensive line did a great job controlling the Steelers offense.

Campton's next game is this Thursday night at 6 p.m. against Tri. The game will be played on the KHS varsity football field.
