 Cross Country Team 8th at Hamilton Heights

September 10, 2008 - Knightstown’s varsity cross country teams competed in the Hamilton Heights Invitational last week and ran fairly well despite a downpour during the boys race.

The boys finished eighth out of the 11 teams with a total score of 219. Adam Carver finished 36th overall to lead the Panthers, completing the course in 20:46. James McKinney also got a top 40 finish, coming in at the 39th spot in 20:55.

Ridge Gaskin was 43rd in 21:06, Isaac Gosnell was 47th in 21:58, Zach Small came in 54th in 23:13, Dylan Altman was 58th in 23:40, and Nick Hammer finished 71st in 32:43.

The Knightstown girls cross country team was not eligible for team place, but will be for the next meet. Individually, Brittney Osborn finished 41st overall in 27:27. Sunshine Zeilinga was 46th in 27:50, Lydia Long was 54th in 28:59 and Cassie House finished 59th in 34:40.

The coed cross country teams come home for their first meet of the season Thursday, when host Shenandoah and Blue River at 5 p.m.
