Burton, True Slam Two Homers Apiece in Reds 8-5 Win
June 25, 2008 - The boys minor league Knightstown Fire Department Reds picked up two wins last week to run their record to an impressive 7-1 on the season. The Reds beat the Locker Trucking Diamondbacks 8-5 in the first game of the Optimist Club tournament, and turned back the Elite Heating Cardinals 12-2 in their final game of the regular season.
Tyler Burton and Addison True both had monster games. The third and fourth battery in the Reds’ lineup both went 3-for-3 with three runs scored, and both players slammed two home runs in the game. Burton had four RBIs and True knocked in two runners.
Jackson Lukens also had two RBIs off of a double he ripped in the game.
Jon Simmons and Lucas Lewis both hit safely and scored a run, while Cameron Dennis had two hits for the Reds.
There were no individual results reported for the Diamondbacks.
Tyler Burton and Cameron Dennis drove in a collective 10 runs in the Reds’ 12-2 regular season finale against the Elite Heating Cardinals.
Burton went 3-for-3 with two runs and five RBIs, while Dennis was 2-for-2 with five RBIs. Kaleb Buchanan, Lucas Lewis, Jackson Lukens, A.J. Dalton and Cameron Jones all had two hits and scored two runs for the winners. Addison True also hit safely, while Lukens and Dalton both had RBIs.
There were no individual results reported for the Cardinals.
