 Basketball Camp, Tennis Clinic on Agenda at KHS

June 11, 2008 - The 2008 Knightstown Panther boys basketball camp will be held at the high school gymnasium from June 16-20. The camp is open for all boys who were in grades kindergarten through eighth in the 2007-08 school year.

Varsity basketball staff and players will work with the youngsters throughout the five day camp. Kindergarten through third grade will have camp each day from 9:30-11 a.m., and grades four and five will participate from 11 a.m. until 12:30. The participants in grades 6-8 will receive instruction each day from 12:30-2 p.m.

Basketball fundamentals will include shooting, passing, defense, dribbling, blocking out and rebounding, pivoting, offensive moves, ball handling and layups. There will also be competitions held during the camp.

Registration is $25 and can be made at any time before the scheduled time for the beginning of camp. All participants will be given a camp T-shirt. Payments may be sent to Panther coach John Howell at 8149 W. US 40, Knightstown, 46148. Checks should be made payable to John Howell.

The competition of a registration form and signing of a waiver is required.

 

  Girls Tennis Clinic June 23-27

Knightstown High School girls tennis coach Cindy Hammer will be conducting her tennis clinic from June 23-27 at the high school tennis courts.

The clinic is for girls who will be going into grade six through nine, and the clinic will be limited to the first 20 applicants in order to allow court time for everyone at the facility. The clinic will take place each day from 6-8 p.m., and registration is $30 and includes a T-shirt.

Participants should wear comfortable athletic clothing and tennis shoes, and should also bring a tennis racket. Instruction will include beginner skills with drills, game play and rules of the game.

Applicants will be contacted immediately to confirm registration. Checks should be made payable to Cindy Hammer and can be mailed to 8200 South SR 109, Knightstown, IN, 46148
