 Optimist Volleyball Program Completes Successful Season, Praises Volunteers

May 14, 2008 - The Knightstown Optimist Club volleyball program completed its play for the season, crowning the league champions in the grades 2-6 competition. The Chick-a-dees, coached by Tracy Wilfong, won the title in grades 2-4, and the runners-up were the Smokin’ Aces, coached by Trish Mastin.

Claiming the championship in the grades 5-6 competition level was the Shox, coached by Beth Back and Brooke Fultz. Runners-up were the Spikers, coached by Kim Heim and Crystal Heim.

Coaches who volunteered in the program this year included Cindy Biehl, Cheryl Hammer, Wilfong, Beth Back, Fultz, Trish Mastin, Rebecca Vise, Tina Horth Brittany Horth, Brittany Biehl, Cassandra Hammer, Kim Heim, Crystal Heim and Lisa Roberts.

Special thanks go to Melissa Brown and Reasha Steinmetz for helping to officiate games, the Optimist organization for their support, the Knightstown High School and Knightstown Intermediate School staff for their cooperation and support.
