 KIS Track Team Wins 3-Way Meet

April 23, 2008 - Knightstown’s junior high boys track team defeated Lapel and Wes-Del last week in a three-way track meet hosted by the Warriors. The Panthers finished with 44 points. Lapel was second with 40 and Wes-Del third with 30 points.

Will Milton won two events for Knightstown. Milton took first place in the 110-meter low hurdles and the long jump. Dean Thomas won the discus and Braxton Kortz won the shot put. Thomas finished second in the shot put.

Bobby Wyatt had two second place ribbons in the 800-meter run and the discus. Thomas finished second in the shot, and J.O. Jessup was third. Garrett Palmer was third in the discus. Also getting third place ribbons were Zac Cleek in the high jump, Terry White in the 110-meter low hurdles and Milton in the 400-meter run.

Scoring points with fourth place efforts were Cleek in the long jump and White in the 200-meter dash. Knightstown’s 400- and 1600-meter relay teams both earned second place ribbons.

The junior high coed teams visit Eastern Hancock tonight (Wednesday) and travel to Cambridge City Lincoln for a three-way meet including Tri on April 28.
