 Jr. High Wrestlers Learning and Winning Along the Way

March 12, 2008 - Knightstown's junior high wrestling team is 2-4 on the season after losing a tough battle against Centerville last week, 27-24.

The Panther boys have defeated Eastern Hancock and Cambridge City Lincoln this season.

Jordan Truax, who had a second place finish against Centerville, is 8-1 on the season with three pins. He is tied with teammate Dean Thomas for wins. Thomas is 8-2 and has recorded five pins.

Nick Probst is 6-4 on the year and has won three matches by pin. Grant Kennedy has five wins and three have been by pin. Billy Smith has recorded three pins and won four matches this season.

Brandon Hall, Christian Blair, Jack Adkins, and Mitch Chew have all won three matches for the Panthers. William McDonald, Austin Darling, Zach Crain and Dakota Howard have registered two wins. Remy Stegbauer and Jareth Hunter have both picked up victories for Knightstown as well.

Brandon Hall and Dean Thomas lead the junior high reserve team. Both wrestlers are 3-0 on the season. Billy Smith and Grant Kennedy have two wins, while Nick Probst, Zach Crain, Dakota Howard, Jareth Hunter and Jordan Truax all have one win for the reserve team. Other team members include Mitch Chew and Ray Smith.

The junior high Panthers are coaced by J.B. Muncy, John Wagner and volunteer coach Bob Hahn.
