 KHS Netters Lose 5-0

October 3, 2007 - Knightstown varsity tennis team lost its last match of the season to Hagerstown last week 5-0.

Mike Hurst lost a tough three-set match at number one singles, and the number two doubles team played well in a losing effort.

“We had an opportunity to win many games during the match,” Coach David Blower said. “The boys did not win game and set points. But they put in a excellent effort.

In number one singles, Hagerstown’s Nick Riggs defeated Mike Hurst 6-1, 4-6 and 6-1. Connor Calsson defeated Nick Dalton 6-0, 6-0 at number two singles, and the Panthers forfeited the number three singles match.

In doubles play, Matt Stainbrook and Sam Wilson defeated Jordan Van Hoy and Kyle Edington in number one doubles 6-1 and 6-1. At number two doubles, Jarred Marshall and Jordan Mathemey defeated Braxton Walker and Mitch Marsischke 6-1, 6-0.
