 Fields, Ortman Lead KIS Track Team Past Doe Creek

 

May 2, 2007 - Knightstown’s boys junior high track team defeated Doe Creek 55-50 last week, getting multiple winning efforts from Lane Fields and Danny Ortman.

Speedster Fields won the 100-meter dash (12.5) and the 200-meter dash (25.8), continuing his dominance in those events this season. Fields also took first place in the long jump at 18’5 ¼”.

Ortman again took first place in the high jump (4’8”) and the shot put (41’3”). Jesse Roswell won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 21.6, nearly a full second ahead of second place. Brandon Carrender finished in third place in the low hurdles.

Bobby Wyatt and Dusty Asberry made it a 1-2 sweep for Knightstown in the discus, with Wyatt going 99’10” and Asberry tossing 98’7”. Levi Borders finished third in the 400-meter dash.

Behind Ortman in the shot put, Asberry came in second (34’6”) and Ben Angel finished third at 27’9”. Wyatt also finished second in the 800-meter run (2:31). Knightstown’s 400-meter relay team also won, but names of individuals were not provided.
