KIS Golfers Beat Mt. Vernon
April 25, 2007 - Knightstown’s junior high golf varsity and JV teams both defeated Mt. Vernon last week, bringing their season record to 1-1.
The Panther varsity team beat the Marauders 190-195. Joey Wyatt was low medalist with a 46. Following him closely was Clay Ratliff, who registered a 47, while Nolan Hall shot a 48 and Kamron Beavers fired a 49. D.J. Warwick shot a 53 and Cory Back a 58.
In the JV team match, Knightstown won 244-250. Shelby Waymon shot a 57, while Erin Bundy had a 58. Matt Newell followed with a 64, Cody Juday had a 65, Daniel Day a 66, and Baylie Hochstedler a 67 for the Panthers.
Knightstown lost its season opener to Pendleton Heights on April 17. The varsity team fell 172-187, while the JV team lost 203-259.
Clay Ratliff led the varsity with a 43, while Joey Wyatt had a 45. Kamron Beavers fired a 49, Nolan Hall had 50, Cory Back 53 and D.J. Warwick a 58.
Matt Newell led the JV with a 60. Erin Bundy shot a 61, Cody Juday a 67, Shelby Wayman had 71, Daniel Day 73 and Baylie Hochstedler 77.
The team travels to Yorktown tonight, and is off until May 7 when they visit Cambridge City Lincoln.
