Sorority Hosts Mother's Day Meeting
May 21, 2008 - Phi Chi Epsilon Sorority Nu Chapter met Monday, May 12, for their annual Mothers Day Dinner at the Pour House in Cambridge City. The Pour House is an old building that has been renovated into an upscale and interesting gourmet coffee, fudge, luncheon, and antique shop.
As members and guests arrived they were able to mingle while looking around at the antiques. Donna Thrasher welcomed everyone and then Sheila Wooten said grace. The meal was served buffet style and the group sat at antique tables with pink geraniums decorated in pink and green pots, which served as gifts for the guests.
After dinner, the group was entertained by Marlena Pearson, who sang and played violin. Barbara Purvis led the sorority in a flower matching game with Marjorie Wilkinson winning a large pot of pink petunias.
Attending were Kathy Ingermann, Krista Hasty, Katasha Hasty, Kathy Rogers, Jean Denney, Diana Brown, Rhonda Grear, Barbara Purvis, Sheila Wooten, Maedean Tower, Marlena Pearson, Donna Thrasher, Nettie Michelson, Dianna Madison, Barbara Boswell, Sophia Raines, Joan Browning, Mary Alice Browning, Linda Coleman, Linda Addison, Marjorie Wilkinson, Diana Nash, Erica Jackson, and Katherine Rose Jackson. Joan Browning accepted our invitation to join Nu Chapter. Barbara Purvis won the door prize drawing of a large pot of geraniums. As members and guests left, many took with them items they had bought in the store or the homemade fudge.
