Wayne Twp. Clever Clovers 4-H Club Meets

March 12, 2008 - The Wayne Township Clever Clovers 4-H club met March 5 at Knightstown United Methodist Church.

Pledges to the American and 4-H flags were led by Lacy Thomas and Cole Fort. The roll call question, “What are you doing for spring break?” was answered by 17 members. Casie Conley read the Secretary’s Report and Travis VanOsdol read the Treasurer’s Report. Amber Pitts gave a demonstration on cake making. Emily Thomas gave a demonstration on preparing a goldfish bowl.

Members were reminded that they have until April 1 to get project registration forms turned in. After April 1, there will be a $10 late fee. Projects may be added or dropped until June 1. The club’s community service project will be helping the Knightstown post office collect food during the May food drive.

It was reported that several members, including Jackson Lukens, Evan Adams and Leah Cline, volunteered to help hang a 4-H banner near Knightstown Elementary School.

An announcement was made regarding sheep weigh-in. Weigh-in will take place Saturday, May 10, from 8-11 a.m.

Swine members were reminded that they need to take the PQA test offered on May 19 and June 26, if they have not tested out for their age brackets. Those who unsure whether or not they tested out should call the Henry County Purdue Cooperative Extension Office.

Club members then engaged in recreation and enjoyed refreshments served by Ciara Kline and Cole and Carson Fort.

The next meeting club meeting is at 6:30 p.m. April 7 at Knightstown United Methodist Church.
