 Thompson Hosts Homemakers Meeting

January 23, 2008 - Town and Country Extension Homemakers held their regular meeting on Tuesday, January 15 at the home of Sonnie Thompson near Knightstown.

As a devotion, Thompson read “A Smile.”

The roll call was answered by seven members. Each responded with the name of a Henry County or Indiana artist. For the health and safety report, Diana Lee presented six steps to healthier restaurant eating. Kathryn Waits presented a cultural arts lesson on war.

The lesson, which revolved around good manners and etiquette, was given by Waits. She said manners related to kindness, while etiquette relates to protocol. Major items in the lesson included basic rules for introductions and guidelines for tipping.

The meeting was adjourned following refreshments. Attending were Thompson, Waits, Pam Bever, Lee, Melody Zapf, Sue Willcox and Brenda Reece. The next meeting is Tuesday, February 19 at Brenda Reece’s home.
