Extension Homemakers Hear Report on Healthy Dieting Habits

December 6, 2006 - The regular meeting of the Town and Country Extension Homemakers was held on Tuesday, November 21, in the communications center at Knightstown United Methodist Church.

President Pam Bever called the meeting to order. The pledge to the American flag and the Homemaker's Creed were recited. For devotions, Hostess Diana Lee read a story, A Beautiful Heart.

The roll call was answered with each of the eight members naming a book they had read recently.

For the health and safety report, Sandra VanHoy gave a discussion on healthy dieting. Sonnie Thompson reported on the covered bridge festival and another member discussed her recent trip to the Amish area in Ohio for a cultural arts lesson.

During the business session, Judy Martin and Sue Willcox passed out invitations to the club's annual Christmas party. It was to be held Tuesday, December 5, at 6 p.m. at the Garden Retreat south of Cumberland.

A lesson on "feel good” fashions was given by Martin. She gave several suggestions on how to select styles and colors to match a person's body type for a better look and feel.

Those attending were Sonnie Thompson, Sandra Van Hay, Pam Bever, Diana Lee, Melody Zapf, Brenda Reece, Judy Martin, Sue Willcox and Kathryn Waits.
