Bethany Tabb Takes on Role at New Publishing House

November 15, 2006 - Knightstown's Bethany Tabb was recently named co-editor of the newly-formed student owned and operated press, Bronze Man Books, at Millikin University, where she is a senior English major. Millikin University is located in Decatur, Ill. The new press will be dedicated to publishing new interesting works and is being built from the ground up to provide students with a real-world business opportunity.

Tabb will share editor duties with another Hoosier, Leah Hurt of Evansville. The two women will work with submitted pieces and in the acquisition process. They will also work with Bronze Man Books designers to ensure quality of design and content.

Tabb is adding to her publishing experience by working at the new press. She has done an internship with a publishing company and is co-editor-in-chief of Millikin's student newspaper, The Decaturian.

"Bronze Man Books is a really good experience that allows me to get my hands on the publishing process," said Tabb. "By working with the authors in the editing process, I have gained a better feel for the entire process."

The student-owned press is named Bronze Man Books in honor of the Bronze Man statue that sits in the heart of the Millikin University campus. For more information on Bronze Man Books go online at www.bronzemanbooks.com.
