DAR Chapter Meets at Johnson Home

November 8, 2006 - Patricia Goodspeed reviewed several books which portrayed the role of women and girls during the Revolutionary War period at the November meeting of the Major Hugh Dinwiddie Chapter DAR. The books included Kate and the Spear, Revolutionary Mothers and Liberty's Daughters.

The meeting was held at the home of Janet Johnson. The President General's message was read by Lucille Brock. Ilarose Cupp gave the National Defense Report on the United States Naval Academy.

Regent Mary Ann Sitler passed out small Christmas trees to be decorated for the veterans’ hospital in Indianapolis.

The next meeting will be Saturday, December 9, at 1 p.m. in the Henry County historical museum. Sarah Winston Henry of the New Castle DAR chapter will serve as hostess.
