 Sarah E. Lloyd

 August 5, 1926 - September 6, 2009

 

Sarah E. Lloyd, 83, of Connersville, formerly of New Castle, died September 6 at Lincoln Centers of Connersville.

She was born Aug. 5, 1926, in Yadkinville, N.C., a daughter of the late Henry and Hattie Messick.

Mrs. Lloyd was a member of Bethel Holiness Church and she devoted her life to raising her children and caring for her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, playing bingo and spending time with her family and friends at the nursing home.

Survivors include four children, Nancy Hancock of Connersville, Johnny (wife, Frieda) Lloyd of Spiceland, Sally (husband, James) Dubois of Connersville and Robert (wife, Pam) Lloyd of Pendleton; two sisters, Myrtle (husband, Bill) Sims of Muncie and Sallie Wadman of Muncie; a brother, Robert (wife, Juanita) Messick of Knightstown; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Lloyd; a brother, Charles Messick; two half sisters, Gladys Flynn and Margaret Messick; an infant sister, Emma Jean Messick; and two brothers-in-law, Steve Sims and Wayne Wadman.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Rev. George Maloyed, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Visitation is Sept. 10 from noon until time of services at the funeral home.
