 Robert C. Smith

 January 13, 1935 - August 26, 2009

Robert C. Smith photo    Robert C. "Bob" Smith, 74, of Markleville, died August 26 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
     He was born Jan. 13, 1935, in Mt. Orab, Ohio, a son of the late Elmer and Elsie (Page) Smith.
     Mr. Smith was a retired independent truck driver. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family, friends and grandchildren.
     Survivors include his wife, Ellen (Harris) Smith of Markleville; four daughters, Lisa (husband, Marvin) Foust of Carthage, Melanie (husband, Eric) Hallgarth of Anderson, Carrie (husband, Wes) Dennis of Muncie and Kelly (husband, Jeremy) Pennington of Alexandria; a son, Robby Smith of Markleville; seven grandchildren, Uriaha (wife, Casey) Foust, Evan and Alan Hallgarth, Wesley and Cameron Dennis, McKenna Pennington and Austin Smith; three sisters, Hazel Smith of Wilkinson, Grace Ebbert of Greenfield and Martha Fry of Greenfield; a brother, Homer Smith of Sweetwater, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Lynn Smith; and his stepmother, Juanita Smith.
    Funeral services were August 29 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating. Burial followed at Harlan Cemetery in Wilkinson. Visitation was August 29 at the funeral home.
