 Mary Kathleen Bever

 July 17, 1927 - August 26, 2009

 

Mary Kathleen Bever, 82, of Charlottesville, died August 26 at Springhurst Health Campus in Greenfield.

She was born July 17, 1927, in Rush County, a daughter of the late Ora and Cora (Six) Mattix.

Mrs. Bever was a 1945 Carthage High School graduate, who retired from Indiana Bell Telephone in 1979 after 32 years of service. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and Communication Workers of America. She enjoyed being a homemaker and listening to country music.

Survivors include a brother, John R. Mattix of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W. Lee Bever; a son, Stewart W. Bever; two sisters, Annabelle Powers and Helen "Juanita" Boring; and a brother, Lawrence B. Mattix.

Graveside funeral services were August 29 at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown with Rev. Jack Hannum officiating. Visitation was August 29 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
