William J. "Bill" Siefert
Oct. 17, 1932 - June 28, 2009
William J. "Bill" Siefert, 76, of Marion, died June 28 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born Oct. 17, 1932, in Shelbyville, a son of the late Albert and Dolores (Lambert) Siefert.
Mr. Siefert retired from General Motors after 42 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as a sergeant in Germany during the Korean War. Mr. Siefert was a member of Lakeview Wesleyan Church and UAW Local 977. He enjoyed boating and spending time on Dale Hollow Lake, as well as the Great Lakes. He also enjoyed water skiing, cars and motorcycles.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Siefert of Marion; two sisters, Norita Mohr of Fairland and Patricia (husband, Roy) Wasson of Newbern; a brother, Philip Siefert of Fairland; a brother-in-law, Donald (wife, Becky) Hammer of Shirley; a sister-in-law, Joann Hammer of Shirley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Albert; and a brother-in-law, Chester Hammer.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 2, at Lakeview Wesleyan Church in Marion with Rev. Duane Seitz officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park in Marion. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service in Marion.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinsons Association.
