 James R. Gosser

 Nov. 22, 1942 – June 2, 2009

James R. Gosser photo    James R. Gosser, 66, of rural Shirley, died at his home on June 2.
     He was born Nov. 22, 1942, in Russell County, Ky., a son of the late Alver Ollis and Cloda (Adkins) Gosser.
     Mr. Gosser retired from General Motors in 1999 after 35 years of service. He was a member of Shirley Masonic Lodge 531 and Wilkinson Church of Christ. He was an avid outdoorsman and he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and other family and friends.
     Survivors include his wife, Ruth; a son, James (wife, Amy) Gosser of Yorktown; three daughters, Shari (husband, Ted) Sweeney of Indianapolis, Jama (husband, Jason) Bowen of Greenfield and Jenny (husband, Coley) McCutcheon of Muncie; six grandchildren, Jacob, Hagan, Nicole, Hailey, Alex and Grant; a brother, Raleigh Gosser; three sisters, Kay Dunigan, Jen Dickerson and Gayla McGraw; his mother-in-law, Louise Sitton; and several nieces and nephews.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Max Gosser.
     Funeral services were June 8 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Pastor Mark Dill officiating. Burial followed at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Visitation, as well as Masonic services, were June 7 at the funeral home.
    Memorial contributions may be made to Hancock Regional Hospice, 801 N. Main St., Greenfield.
