 Frances E. Morgan

 June 29, 1924 – May 22, 2009

Frances E. Morgan photo    Frances E. Morgan, 84, of Knightstown, died May 22 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
     She was born June 29, 1924, in Knightstown, a daughter of the late Frank J. and Pansy B. (Davis) Ellis.
     Mrs. Morgan was a 1924 Mays High School graduate who later worked for United Telephone Company for many years. She was a seamstress at the Indiana Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Children’s Home in Knightstown for several years. A member of Psi Iota Xi sorority for man years, she was also a member of Center Christian Church for over 75 years. Mrs. Morgan enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques and raising and painting gourds. She was a painter and a crafter.
     Survivors include three daughters, Marcia D. (husband, Ronald L.) Denton of LaGrange, Lisa M. Morgan of Knoxville, Tenn., and Lori G. (husband, Gregory J.) Morrison of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren, Lindy N. (husband, Lance) Cummings of Hamilton, Ohio, Lauren R. Denton, Lizabeth K. Denton, Leigh A. Denton and Larissa M. Denton, all of Fort Wayne, Lesly A. Denton of LaGrance and Jacob C. and Jared R. Morrison, both of Indianapolis; a brother, Marcus N. (wife, Evelyn) Ellis of Carthage; and several nieces and nephews.
     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Morgan; a sister, Olive H. Mattix; and two brothers, Claude A. Ellis and Stoy F. Ellis.
     Funeral services were May 26 at Center Christian Church in Mays with Pastor Bill Worrell officiating. Burial followed at Center Cemetery. Visitation was May 25 at Center Christian Church.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the Center Christian Church Building Fund. Funeral arrangements were handled by Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown.
