 Jack D. Spegal

 July 27, 1935 – May 5, 2009

Jack D. Spegal, 73, of Morristown, died May 5 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.

He was born July 27, 1935, in Fortville, a son of the late James and Mary (Cottrell) Spegal.

Mr. Spegal, who graduated from Moral Township High School, retired from the Chrysler Corporation as a pipe fitter in 1979. He also raised registered polled Hereford cattle was a cattle farmer. Mr. Spegal served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Shiloh Christian Church, Morristown Masonic Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star and Shelbyville American Legion. He was a past member of the Eagles Lodge, York Rite and the Raleigh Community Club, where he enjoyed dancing.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis M. Spegal of Morristown; a son, Dale Spegal of Indianapolis; three daughters, Wanda (husband, Bob) Wyatt of Morristown, Norma (husband, Tim) Ward of Shirley and Jane (husband, John) Clifton of Greenfield; a brother, Gail (wife, Shirley) Spegal of Fairland; and six grandchildren, Jackie and Jacob Clifton, Marshall Davis, Sarah and Shelby Wyatt and Timmy Ward.

Funeral services were May 9 at Freeman Family Funeral Home, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, in Shelbyville with Pastor Fred Girdler officiating. Burial followed at Asbury Cemetery. Visitation was May 8 at the funeral home.
