 Frances “Sarah” Egan

 Oct. 13, 1923 – May 11, 2009

Frances “Sarah” Egan, 85, of New Castle, died May 11 at The Waters of New Castle.

She was born Oct. 13, 1923, in Bath County, Ky., a daughter of the late Clinton and Elizabeth (Crouch) Haney.

Mrs. Egan was a member of Knightstown Church of God. She enjoyed spending time with her children and cooking. She also enjoyed singing and gospel music.

Survivors include a daughter, Sue Charles of Muncie; two sons, Wayne Egan of Florida and Rick (wife, Linda) Egan of New Castle; a sister, Grace Carter of Chesterfield; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ora Egan; a grandson, Michael Coomer; four brothers; and four sisters.

Funeral services are at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 14, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown with Rev. Randy Gross officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation is 2-3 p.m. Thursday, May 14, at the funeral home.
