 Vickie S. McKinney

 October 8, 1953 – March 30, 2009

Vickie S. McKinney, 55, of Knightstown, died March 30 at her home.

She was born Oct. 8, 1953, in New Castle, a daughter of Mitchell Porter and the late Mildred (Hamilton) Porter.

Mrs. McKinney worked for 26 years at Smurfit Stone Container Corporation and had been a pharmacy technician for Kroger in New Castle. She was a member of American Legion Post 152 Auxiliary.

Survivors include her father, Mitchell D. Porter of Knightstown; two daughters, Nichole (husband, David) Davis of Arlington and Jaime Thurman of Greenfield; a brother, Ray (wife, Rebecca) Porter of Anderson; two sisters, Kathleen (husband, Cecil) Powell of Morristown and Jeanine McCullers of Knightstown; three grandson, Jarrod, Caleb and Grant Davis, all of Arlington; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday, April 3, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown with Pastors Randy Gross and Bill Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, April 2, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hancock County Hospice or the American Cancer Society with envelopes at the funeral home.
