 James D. Bainter, Sr.

James D. Bainter, Sr. photo    James D. “Jim” Bainter, Sr., 72, of Vero Beach, Fla., died March 24 at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian, Fla.
    Born in Greenfield, Mr. Bainter lived in Vero Beach for 51 years. He was a fabricator who worked at Piper Aircraft for 37 years. He was a member of the Orioles and Moose lodges, and was a former member of the Eagles Lodge in Sebastian. Mr. Bainter served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
     Survivors include his son, James Bainter, Jr., of Vero Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Belinda Bainter of Vero Beach and Marie Fleming of Palm Bay, Fla.; a sister, Shirley Miller of Vero Beach; six grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Ann Bainter; and his second wife, Shirley Jean Bainter.
     Funeral services and visitation were March 28 at Strunk Funeral Home in Sebastian, Fla., with Rev. Buddy Johns officiating. Military honors were conducted by the Sebastian Area Veterans’ Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Treasure Coast area, 3375 20th St., #100, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
