 Mary L. Schaeffer

 August 19, 1930 – March 15, 2009

Mary L. Schaeffer photo    Mary L. Schaeffer, 78, of Knightstown, died March 15 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
    She was born Aug. 19, 1930, in North Vernon, a daughter of the late Ralph and Pearl Littell.
     Mrs. Schaeffer worked at Western Electric and retired after 25 years of service. She was a member of Knightstown American Legion Post 152 Auxiliary. Mrs. Schaeffer enjoyed playing cards, bingo and reading. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and family gatherings.
     Survivors include two daughters, Barb (husband, Jeff) Gustin of Knightstown and Sue (husband, Paul) Loveall of Carthage; three sons, Gary Schaeffer of Knightstown, Tom (wife, Tina) Schaeffer of Knightstown and John (wife, Shari) Schaeffer of Greenfield; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law and a granddaughter.
     Funeral services were March 18 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown with Rev. Jack Hannum officiating. Burial followed at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was March 17 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.
