 Gladys K. Jessup

 August 22, 1910 – March 14, 2009

Gladys K. Jessup, 98, of Charlottesville, a former longtime Knightstown resident, died March 14 at Country Home Manor.

She was born Aug. 22, 1910, in Hancock County, a daughter of the late Ila and Hattie (Jamison) Collins.

Mrs. Jessup was a 1928 Charlottesville High School graduate who served as a secretary at Eli Lilly for 31 years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of Knightstown Friends Church and a member of the associate chapter of Tri Kappa.

Survivors include her godchildren, Caitlin, Emma and Sarah Contreraz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Weldon Jessup; an infant son, Jack Weldon Jessup; and a sister, Stella Collins.

Funeral services were March 17 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Fred Powers officiating. Burial followed at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was prior to services. Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital.
