Daniel L. Florea
June 19, 1946 – February 27, 2009
Daniel L. Florea, 62, formerly of Shelby County, now of Shirley, died February 27 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
He was born June 19, 1946, in Greenfield, a son of Helen Florea and the late Thurman “Joe” Florea.
Mr. Florea was a maintenance worker for factories in Shelbyville and a member of Shirley Friends Church. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Florea of Shirley; two sons, Dan (wife, Pam) Florea, Jr., of Ohio, and James (wife, Jenny) Florea of Shirley; two daughters, Dawn Florea of Knightstown and Carrie (husband, Chris) Underwood of Knightstown; two stepsons, Tom (wife, Whitney) Tompkins of Shirley and Levi (wife, Kristi) Tompkins of Illinois; seven grandchildren; his mother, Helen Florea of Shirley; a brother, Robert (wife, Mary) Florea of Shirley; one niece; and one nephew.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mischelle Ann Florea.
Funeral services were March 3 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Jim Jackson officiating. Burial followed at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was March 3 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions, which will help defray funeral expenses, may be made to Condo & Son Funeral Home, P.O. Box 128, Wilkinson, IN 46186.
