Herman W. Robbins
Apr. 27, 1937 – Feb. 13, 2009
Herman W. Robbins, 71, of Nashville, formerly of Charlottesville, died February 13 at Hospice of Central Indiana.
He was born April 27, 1937, in Muncie, a son of the late William Henry and Ruby P. (Carson) Robbins.
A 1956 Carthage High School graduate, Mr. Robbins also attended Purdue University and served in the U.S. Army. He worked at Delco Remy in Anderson for 30 years before retiring in 1991. Mr. Robbins delivered the Indianapolis Star and Indianapolis News in the Greenfield area and drove for Bill Mize Trucking. He was involved with 4-H leadership in Rush County and was a member of Dunreith Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Martha L. Robbins of Nashville; two sons, William W. Robbins of Nashville and Robert E. (wife, Jennifer) Robbins of Greenfield; a daughter, Tammy L. Kindler of Anderson; two brothers, Fred Robbins of Bean Blossom and Carl Robbins of Carthage; and four grandchildren, Brandon, Derek, Shawn and Joshua.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield with Kenton Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown. Visitation was February 17 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
