Lionel “Bill” Leduc

Lionel “Bill” Leduc, 81, of New Castle, died January 20 at South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center, Fla.
He was born Aug. 5, 1927, in Milan, Mich., a son of the late Albert and Marguerite (Overman) Leduc.
Mr. Leduc was a longtime New Castle resident who vacationed in Ruskin, Fla. He retired from Delco Remy in Anderson in 1986 after 35 years of service as a tool and die maker. He was a member of New Castle Masonic Lodge #91. He also worked as a machinist for Howard Bow. Mr. Leduc was a U.S. Army veteran who was honorably discharged in 1947. He served as a pilot in the 72nd Army Air Force. He received the American Theater Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. After the war, Mr. Leduc joined the U.S. Air Force Reserve and was honorably discharged in 1950.
Survivors include two sons, Alan (wife, Brenda) Leduc of New Castle and Ralph (wife, Teresa) Leduc of Vanceburg, Ky.; two daughters, Cynthia Leduc of Galveston and Cheryl Ping of New Castle; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Louise Sitton of Shirley; a stepsister, Barbara Hoover of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Brown) Leduc; his stepfather, Toby Overman; a brother, Albert Leduc; a sister, Jeanette Lazenby; and a stepbrother, Bud Overman.
Funeral services were January 24 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson. Burial followed at Green Hills Memorial Gardens in New Castle. Visitation was January 23 at the funeral home.
