 Ruth F. Barnes

 Dec. 26, 1915 – Jan. 10, 2009

Ruth F. Barnes, 93, of Knightstown, died January 10 at her home.

She was born Dec. 26, 1915, in Mitchell, a daughter of the late William A. and Lucille (Woodward) Jones.

Mrs. Barnes was a retired cashier in the Paoli school system. She attended Paoli United Methodist Church before moving to Knightstown three years ago. Most recently, she attended Knightstown United Methodist Church. Her memberships included Delta Tri Kappa of Kappa Kappa Kappa, Eastern Star, Paoli Firemen’s Auxiliary, United Methodist Women and the All in One Club. She was also a volunteer for the American Red Cross blood program.

Survivors include a son, Larry (wife, Judy) Barnes of Knightstown; a brother, Harold (wife, Penny) Jones of Plainfield; a grandson, Eric (wife, Mikki) Barnes of Beech Grove; a granddaughter, Angie (husband, James) Holt of Cumberland; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall H. Barnes; four brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, at Chastain Funeral Home in Mitchell with James Babcock officiating. Visitation was at Tuesday, January 13, at Todd Funeral Home in Knightstown. Burial will take place at Cresthaven Memorial Garden. Todd Funeral Home in Knightstown is handling arrangements.
