Rex David Livingston
Nov. 11, 1947 – Jan. 8, 2009
Rex David Livingston, 61, of Knightstown, died January 8 at St. Vincent’s Heart Center of Indiana in Indianapolis.
He was born Nov. 11, 1947, in New Castle, a son of the late Charles and Genevieve (Smith) Livingston.
Mr. Livingston was a 1966 Spiceland High School graduate. He was employed by Allegheny Ludlum in New Castle. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Mr. Livingston served during the Vietnam era. He was a member of Knightstown American Legion Post 152. He enjoyed vacationing with his family and watching Knightstown High School sports.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Livingston of Knightstown; two daughters, Carrie Ferree of Ladoga and Julie Livingston of Rushville; a son, Kevin Livingston of Tipton; three grandchildren, Jessup, Emma and Collin Ferree, all of Ladoga; a brother, Roy Duane (wife, Wendy) Livingston of Battleground; a sister, Lois Ann Livingston of San Jose, Cal.; his mother- and father-in-law, James and Carole Speer of Charlottesville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Roy and Bertie Livingston; his maternal grandparents, Charles and Gertrude Smith; and a nephew, Shawn Livingston.
Funeral services were January 11 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown with Rev. Dr. James Garcia officiating. Visitation was January 11 prior to services. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
