 Rev. Paul E. Miller

 Sept. 19, 1918 – Dec. 7, 2008

Rev. Paul E. Miller, 90, of New Castle, died December 7 at Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle.

He was born Sept. 19, 1918, in Cicero, a son of the late Albert and Cora Alice (Wiles) Miller.

Rev. Miller served in the U.S. Army for two years during World War II. He was a Frankfort (Ind.) Pilgrim College graduate and was ordained into the ministry in 1949. Rev. Miller served as dean of men at Frankfort Pilgrim College in 1950. He pastored several holiness churches in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan for 32 years. He served an additional 12 years as an interim pastor and evangelist. Rev. Miller also had a jail ministry and a nursing home ministry for several years. He lived in New Castle for the past 12 years.

Survivors include his 11 children, Robert (wife, Barbara) Miller of New Castle, Larry (wife, Beverly) Miller of Melbourne Beach, Fla., Rebekah (husband, Dave) Bellis of Copley, Ohio, Joanna (husband, Nehiel) Rojas of Pasadena, Tex., Jonathan (wife, Debbie) Miller of Bon Aqua, Tenn., Mark (wife, Vicky) Miller of Hagerstown, Priscilla (husband, David) Thurston of Spiceland, Paul (wife, Teresa) Miller II of Cicero, Miriam (husband, Ken) Fry of Troy, Ohio, Mary Beth Whisman of Richmond and Esther (husband, Jeff) Madison of Indianapolis; a brother, Joseph (wife, Vernetta) Miller of Corydon; 31 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma (Ammerman) Miller; two granddaughters, Beverly McKay and Anita Miller; a grandson, Luke Miller; a sister, Waunetta Hill; and a brother, Kenneth Miller.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday, December 12, at Spiceland Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Buddy Perry officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Lewisville, and one hour prior to services Friday at the church. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the New Castle Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Color Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to Evangelistic Faith Missions, P.O.
