 Larry E. McCord

 Sept. 11, 1943 – Dec. 1, 2008

Larry E. McCord, 65, of rural Cadiz, died December 1 at his home.

He was born Sept. 11, 1943, in Hancock County, a son of the late Delbert and Hazel (Brizendine) McCord.

Mr. McCord retired from Delco-Remy in Anderson 1992. He was a co-owner of L-P Greenhouse near Kennard for the past 30 years. Mr. McCord coached youth baseball and enjoyed pacer and trotter horse racing, Indiana University basketball and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Polly (Riggs) McCord of rural Cadiz; three sons, David (wife, Kathy) McCord of Middletown, Tom (wife, Andrea) McCord of Mitchell and Rusty (wife, Gayla) McCord of Middletown; seven grandchildren, Kelli, Charli, Lexi, Jordyn, Sean, Ariel and Denton McCord; two stepgrandchildren, Trey and Coty

Baer; one great-grandson, Hunter McCord; a sister, Beverly Pope of Cape Coral, Fla.; a brother, Philip McCord of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday, December 5, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Pastor Ryan Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow at Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, December 4, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Henry County Community Foundation’s local food pantries fund.
