 Ralph D. Henderson

 April 27, 1926 – Nov. 20, 2008

Ralph Henderson photo    Ralph D. Henderson, 82, of Carthage, died November 20 at Richard L. Roudebush V.A. Medical Center in Indianapolis.
    He was born April 27, 1926, in Olive Hill, Ky., a son of the late Louis and Grace (Howard) Henderson.
     Mr. Henderson was a lifelong Carthage resident and a founding member of the Carthage Volunteer Fire Department where he served several terms as fire chief. A member of First Southern Baptist Church of Rushville, he enjoyed coin collecting and fishing. He was known as a loving husband and a great father.
     Survivors include his wife, Rose (Brown) Henderson of Carthage; two daughters, Wanda Henderson and Joyce Henderson, both of Carthage; three sons, Ralph (wife, Anita) Henderson of Morristown, Warren (wife, Julie) Henderson of Fishers and John Henderson of Greenfield; five grandchildren, Mandy (husband, Rusty) Locker of Kennard, Phillip, Peter and Patrick Henderson of Fishers and Jesse Henderson of Greenfield; four geat-grandchildren, Russell, Andy, Justin and Shelby Locker; five brothers; and two sisters.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Henderson; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Henderson; and four sisters.
     Funeral services were November 22 at Riverside Cemetery in Carthage. Arrangements were handled by Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rush County Senior Center or the Carthage Volunteer Fire Department.
