 Thelma Blake

 April 13, 1930 – Oct. 19, 2008

Thelma Blake, 78, of New Castle, died October 19 at her home.

She was born April 13, 1930, in Monticello, Ky., a daughter of the late John Marion Kidd and Elizabeth (Dishman) Kidd.

Mrs. Blake lived in Lewisville for 56 years before moving to New Castle. She was a member of New Castle Church of the Nazarene and a homemaker.

Survivors include three daughters, Anna (husband, Joe) Higgins of New Castle, Carol Blake of Richmond and Susie (husband, Mike) Downey of Knightstown; a son, Robin Blake of New Castle; a stepdaughter, Mary Ann Orr of New Castle; two stepsons, Otis (wife, Diane) Blake of Lewisville and Robert (wife, Janice) Blake of Lewisville; two grandson; and numerous step-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Blake; three sons, Ronnie Blake, John Ray Blake and Roger Kidd; and two stepsons, Gene Carlos and Charles Wallace Blake.
