 Odra Nolen

 April 11, 1928 – Nov. 1, 2008

Odra “Audrey” Nolen, 80, of Carthage, died November 1 at Brandywine Nursing Home in Greenfield.

She was born April 11, 1928, a daughter of the late Clarence and Anna (Gulley) Spence.

Mrs. Nolen owned and operated Midway Café in Charlottesville. She was an avid seamstress who loved to crochet and perform floral design for friends.

Survivors include four daughters, Joann Bray of Indianapolis, Patricia (husband, Larry) Hardeman of Carthage, Vivian (husband, Jim) Wayland of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Tamara Nolen of Carthage; a sister, Olive (husband, Tony) Riley of Shelbyvlle; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cledis Nolen; five brothers, Norman, Raymond, Ezra, Orville and Oran Spence; and three sisters, Helen Logan, Lola Jones and Opal Richmond.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 6, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Rev. Paul Enyart and Youth Minister Shane Nasby officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Carthage. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, at the funeral home.
