Christine Anne Wiatt
March 6, 1947 – Oct. 23, 2008
Christine Anne Wiatt, 61, of Knightstown, died October 23 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
She was born March 6, 1947, in Lafayette, a daughter of the late Leonard Wiatt and Joyce (Holt) Wiatt.
Miss Wiatt was a 1965 Knightstown High School graduate, and a 1969 Indiana University graduate. worked with the Girl Scouts in California and Anderson. She served as a director of a YWCA in Fontana, Cal., for 20 years. Miss Wiatt also was a librarian at IU East in Richmond. She was a member of Knightstown Friends Church and sang in the church choir. Her other memberships included Girl Scouts of America and YWCA.
Survivors include her mother, Joyce Wiatt of Knightstown; a sister, Barbara (husband, Michael) Garland of Greenfield; her companion, Darla (Shannon) Smilardo of Knightstown; two nephews; one great-niece; and one great-nephew.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother.
Funeral services are Sunday, November 2, at 2 p.m. at Knightstown Friends Church with Rev. Mark Herbkersman officiating. Burial will take place at the family’s convenience. Todd Funeral Home in Knightstown is handling arrangements.
