 Jim Fairchild

 Oct. 27, 1958 - Oct. 9, 2008

Jim Fairchild, 49, died October 9 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born Oct. 27, 1958, in New Castle, a son of the late Arvel James “AJ” and Nilah (Rogers) Fairchild.

Mr. Fairchild spent his entire life in the New Castle area. A 1977 Tri High School graduate, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in New Castle, as well as the New Castle Evening Optimist Club. Mr. Fairchild was a livestock auctioneer at Henry County Livestock Auction. He also traveled throughout the country organizing horse sales.

Survivors include his wife, Fay (Shrader) Fairchild; a daughter, Catie Fairchild of New Castle; a brother, Ronald Dean Fairchild of Jacksonville, Fla.; his mother-in-law, Virginia Shrader of New Castle; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nilah Jo Fairchild.

Funeral services were October 14 at First United Methodist Church in New Castle with Revs. Tom McGillard and Lawrence Bishop officiating. Burial followed at Lewisville Cemetery. Visitation was October 13 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Lewisville.
