Robert H. Brown
Sept. 11, 1926 – Aug. 13, 2008
Robert H. Brown, 81, of Knightstown, died August 13 at Regency Place Nursing Home in Greenfield.
He was born Sept. 11, 1926, in Muncie, a son of the late Robert C. and Nellie (Harris) Brown.
Mr. Brown served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from the Chrysler Corporation’s Shadeland Avenue plant in Indianapolis in 1983. Mr. Brown was a member of Knightstown American Legion Post 152 and the New Castle V.F.W. post.
Survivors include a son, Anthony “Pete” (wife, Pat) Stonerock; four daughters, Diane (husband, Bill) Brosius of Fishers, Cynthia Tompkins of Knightstown, Michele (husband, John) White of Knightstown and Bobbi Brown of Columbia, Md.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ronald E. Brown of Vero Beach, Fla.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby F. (Pitts) Brown; two sisters, Barbara Rawlings and Patricia Brown; and a granddaughter, Sherri Stonerock.
Funeral services were August 18 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Gary Sickle officiating. Burial, with full military graveside rites conducted by Knightstown American Legion Post 152, followed at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was August 17 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
