 Pearl Hastings Ritchie

 Oct. 11, 1917 – Aug. 5, 2008

Pearl Ritchie photo    Pearl Hastings Ritchie, 90, of New Castle, died August 5 at Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle.
    She was born Oct. 11, 1917, in Wilcor, W.V., a daughter of the late Will and Bindie Ann (Hooker) Scott.
    Mrs. Ritchie was a longtime employee of the Henry County Treasurer’s Office in New Castle. She also worked in the Henry County Memorial Hospital housekeeping department. A member of First Freewill Baptist Church in New Castle, Mrs. Ritchie was also a longtime member of the Pythian Sisters in New Castle.
    Survivors include several nephews, Stephen (wife, Cindy) Hastings, Ralph S. (wife, Darlene) Hastings, Duane (wife, Kay) Hastings, Gregg Hastings, Cecil Davis, Jim Addison, Eddie Addison, Bobby Addison, Arnold Coffey, Manual Coffey, Darrell Coffey, Jerry Coffey, Harold Coffey, Clayton Coffey, David Kendall and Terry (wife, Judy) Bunner; several nieces, Connie (husband, Carl) Wells, Heather Upchurch, Laura Butler, Helen Cox, Emma Mae Davis, Barbara Belcher, Charlotta Legg, Ruby Buckner and Connie Hicks; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and a stepdaughter, Sue Ritchie.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul “Pete” Hastings; her second husband, Harold Burton Ritchie; a sister; eight brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were August 9 at First Freewill Baptist Church in New Castle with Rev. Kevin Flannigan officiating. Burial followed at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was August 8 at Main & Davis Funeral Home in New Castle.
