Mary Evelyn Patton
July 7, 1915 – July 13, 2008
Mary Evelyn Patton, 93, of Greenfield, formerly of Knightstown, died July 13 at Regency Place in Greenfield.
She was born July 7, 1915, in Marion, a daughter of the late Firman and Gladys (Larrison) Kaufman.
Mrs. Patton assisted her husband, Curtis, in operated Patton’s IGA grocery store in Knightstown for 25 years. She was a member of the Shirley Euchre Club, Knightstown BPW, Priscilla Club, Knightstown Friends Church, Kennard Brotherhood and Sisterhood and the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include a daughter, Lavon (husband, Rex) Sigler of Cambridge City; two sons, Jim (wife, Marcia) Patton of Indianapolis and Joe (wife, Penny) Patton of Knightstown; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 stepgreat-grandchild; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis; three brothers, Paul Kaufman, Ralph Kaufman and Dale Kaufman; and a sister, Opal Doolittle.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was July 15 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Knightstown Friends Church or the American Lung Association.
