 Joe Alley

 April 27, 1940 – June 12, 2008

Joe Alley photo    Joe Alley, 68, of New Castle, died June 12 at his home.
    He was born April 27, 1940, in Albany, Ky., a son of the late Clarence and Cathering (McClellan) Alley.
    Mr. Alley worked at New Castle Laundry for several years and owned and operated Deep Rock service stations, which were located at the intersection of State Roads 3 and 38 and South Main Street in New Castle. He later owned and operated Alley’s Gas Maintenance. An avid bowler and motorcyclist, Mr. Alley was known as someone who enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
    Survivors include his wife, Theresa (Rednour) Alley; a daughter, Melodie (husband, Kenny) Smith; two grandchildren, Kori and Kale; a sister, Lila (husband, Dale) DeHart; two brothers, Ned (wife, JoAnn) Alley and Donny (wife, Sherry) Alley, both of New Castle; and several nieces and nephews.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a s on, Troy; a grandson, K.C. Joe Smith; and a brother, James Alley.
    Funeral services were June 16 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Lynn Furrow officiating. Burial followed in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition in New Castle. Visitation was June 15 at the funeral home.
