Howard S. Davis
Oct. 8, 1946 – April 25, 2008
Howard S. Davis, 61, of Shelbyville, died April 25 at his home.
He was born Oct. 8, 1946, in Shirley, a son of the late William Howard and Genevee Jane (Maxwell) Davis.
Mr. Davis was a Wilkinson High School graduate and a member of Lewisville Baptist Church. He retired from his job as a steel worker at Olin-Brass in Indianapolis after several years of service. Mr. Davis was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp.
Survivors include his mother, Genevee Jane Davis of Raysville; three daughters, Sherri Hyatt and Laura (husband, John) Plummer of Shelbyville, and Lisa (husband, Travis) Mullins of St. Paul; two sons, Howard “Joe” (wife, Jamie) Davis Jr. of Shelbyvile and Tracy (wife, Angie) Gray of Mechanicsburg; three stepdaughters, Lisa (husband, Gary) Atwood and Suzette (husband, Tom) Harke, both of Franklin and Michelle (husband, Tim) Coy of Trafalgar; eight sisters, Shelby (husband, Ray) Clowers of South Carolina, Rebecca “Becky” (husband, John) Williams of Greenfield, Wilma Davis, Nancy (husband, Roger) Hamilton, Judy (husband, Kenny) Mast and Lora (husband, Larry) Lewman, all of Knightstown, Cindy (husband, Larry) Benefiel of Cleveland and Jennifer (husband, Rick) Thompson of New Castle; three brothers, Clarence “Eddie” (wife, Patricia) Davis of Shirley, William “Bill” (wife, Bonnie) Davis of Carthage and James “Jimmy” (wife, Lisa) Davis of Raysville; 22 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services were April 30 at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood. Visitation was April 30 at the funeral home.
