James R. Mosley

Jan. 19, 1921 – April 14, 2008

James R. Mosley, 87, died April 14 at his home.

He was born Jan. 19, 1921, in Liberty, Ky., a son of the late Dewy and Martha (Holt) Mosley.

Mr. Mosley married Patricia Helms on July 19, 1961. He was a master carpenter and worked in construction his whole life. He served in the U.S. Army from 1939-1945 and served in Luzon and New Guinea during World War II. He was a lifetime member of the VFW.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia; four sons, James (wife, Irene) Mosley, Jr. of Florence, Ky., John (wife, Mary Ann) Mosley of Bullhead, Ariz., Michael (wife, Nycol) Mosley of Melbourne, Fla., and Jeffrey (wife, Julie) of Avon; two daughters, Lynn (husband, Mike) Fischer of Naples, Fla., and Lenora (husband, Tom) Conley of Carthage; a stepson, Terry (wife, Linda) Helms of Buchanan, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Tammy (husband, Charles) Saunders of Rushville; a brother, Carol (wife, Marian) Mosley of Summerfield, Fla.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas; and a brother, Earl.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Thomas Holt officiating. Burial with full military graveside rites will follow at Arlington East Hill Cemetery in Arlington. Visitation is 11 a.m. until time of services on April 17.
