Ivan Pitts

Nov. 1, 1914 – April 11, 2008

Ivan Pitts, 93, of Shirley, died at Bethany Health Care in Anderson.

He was born Nov. 1, 1914, in Wisconsin, a son of the late Fred and Margaret Pitts.

Mr. Pitts retired from the paper mill in Carthage, where he worked for several years.

Survivors include two sons, Frank Pitts of Falmouth and David Leroy Pitts of Indianapolis; a daughter, Linda Pitts-Hankins of Waldron; two stepdaughters, Loretta Alspaugh of Pendleton and Deborah Higginbotham of Pendleton; and a stepson, Dick Simmons of New Castle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Pitts in 1984; his second wife, Reva Pitts in 2004; a daughter, Sandra Hankins; six brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral services were April 14 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Rev. Randy Gross officiating. Burial followed in Arlington Cemetery. Visitation was April 14 at the funeral home.
