Beverly “Jeannie” Irwin

Nov. 6, 1939 – March 26, 2008

Beverly “Jeannie” Irwin, 68, of New Castle, died March 26 at Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle.

She was born Nov. 6, 1939, in Indianapolis, a daughter of the late Merle and Wilma (Graham) Benge.

Mrs. Irwin was a 1957 Kennard High School graduate and an Ivy Tech graduate. She was a retired licensed professional nurse, who worked at Regency Place in Greenfield and Westminster Village in Oaklandon. An avid gardener, Mrs. Irwin also enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was known as a loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph F. Irwin; a daughter, Cathy (husband, Tim) Kendall of Shirley; three sons, Joseph (wife, Gina) Irwin of Woodbridge, Va., David (wife, Paula) Irwin of New Castle and Walter (wife, Amanda) Irwin of Shelbyville; eight grandchildren, Darby, Seth, Mallory, Kendall, Patty, Shelby, Madison; Allie and Morgan Irwin; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Nellie (husband, Jake) Lynn of Acton, Norma Cooper and Linda K. Reeves, both of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley King.

Funeral services were March 29 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Pastor Russ Lutes officiating. Burial followed at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was March 28 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to any emphysema association.
